Privacypolicy.
Pride Fighting Academy (PFA) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, book a class, join, train with us or buy from our shop, why we need it, and how we keep it safe. We follow South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
01Who is responsible
Pride Fighting Academy (PFA), registration number 2005/014832/23, VAT number 4650306287, is the responsible party for your information. Our Information Officer is Mike Mouneimne, the owner. Email info@pridefightingacademy.com, call or WhatsApp +27 82 660 2129, or visit us at Shop 11, Roeland Square, 68 Roeland Street, Gardens, Cape Town.
Questions about your information, or a request to see, correct or delete it, can go to the same email address. We'll reply within 30 days.
02What we collect
- Contact details: your name, email address and mobile number.
- Your SA ID number and date of birth. We need these to confirm the R89 trial (for South African residents) and for membership contracts.
- An emergency contact, and any health information you choose to share on the indemnity or membership form, so coaches can keep you safe.
- For debit order memberships: your bank name, account number, branch code and account type. These are stored encrypted and only the PFA team can see them.
- Your bookings, class check-ins, membership details and requests (such as pausing or cancelling).
- Shop orders and, if you choose delivery, your delivery address.
- Messages you send us through the website, email or WhatsApp.
- Basic technical information when you use the website, such as your browser type and the pages you visit, so the site works properly and stays secure.
We never see or store your full card number. Card payments are handled by Yoco on their own secure payment page.
03Why we use it
- To book, move and confirm your classes, and send you booking emails.
- To set up and manage your membership, including collecting monthly fees by debit order.
- To process and deliver shop orders.
- To keep you safe while you train and to contact someone if there's an emergency.
- To reply to your questions and requests.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
- To send news and offers, but only if you've said yes. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.
04Photos and videos
We take photos and videos during training for our website and social media. If you'd rather not be photographed or filmed, tick the box on your membership or indemnity form, or tell the team at the front desk.
06How we keep it safe
The website uses encrypted connections (https). Sensitive details such as ID numbers and bank details are encrypted in our database, and only logged-in PFA staff can see member records.
07How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you train with us, and afterwards only as long as we need to for legal, tax and accounting reasons (usually five years). After that we delete it or make it anonymous.
09Your rights
- Ask what information we hold about you and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct or update it.
- Ask us to delete it, unless we have to keep it by law or for an active contract.
- Say no to marketing at any time.
To do any of these, email info@pridefightingacademy.com. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
10Children
Kids classes are for ages 6 to 12. A parent or guardian fills in the forms and gives the information for their child. Anyone under 21 needs a parent or guardian to sign their membership.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
